Fall officially begins with the autumnal equinox on September 22, which means fall colors, cooler weather, and pumpkin spice everything is right around the corner. If you live at The Pointe - Hilliard, you have easy access to the street fairs and festivals celebrating the changing season. Here are a few of them you can look forward to.
Old Hilliardfest
Old Hilliardfest features live music, arts and crafts, food, games, carnival rides, a sunflower show, and Kid’s Fair, as well as booths hosted by local vendors and organizations. It’s all happening Saturday, September 10th from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.
Mystics and Marvels: A Faire of Unusual Things
This carnival of oddities takes place September 10th and 11th from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. at the Franklin County Fairgrounds. Tickets for all ages are $10 in advance or at the door.
Backwoods Fest
This 3-day arts and music fest promises more than 300 craft vendors, Bluegrass music, open-fire kettle cooked food, and a charity auction. It’s all happening September 16th through the 18th at 8572 High Point Road in Thornville, Ohio.
Grove City Food Truck Festival
You can catch this food truck festival and “shop hop” on multiple events so you’re sure not to miss out: September 16th, September 30th, October 14th, and October 28th from 4 to 9 p.m. Enjoy food, treats, and crafts from local vendors in the town center of Grove City.
Hilliard Fall Festival
Enjoy hay rides, games and inflatables, pumpkin carving, food trucks, and more at this annual event that takes place Sunday, September 18th from 1 to 4 p.m. at Reynolds Municipal Park.
Taste of Franklin County
Go on a hay ride, purchase products at the mini farmers market, and enjoy a locally sourced dinner benefitting the Franklin County Farm Bureau’s youth programs and scholarship fund. This event takes place September 25th from 1:30 to 8 p.m. Get your tickets at Eventbrite.
Columbus Fall Brew Fest
The inaugural Columbus Fall Brew Fest will take place in the outfield of Huntington Park on October 1st, featuring more than 150 local and domestic craft beers, plus music and lawn games. See their event page for more information.
Oakland Nursery Pumpkin Weigh-off
Oakland Nursery’s annual pumpkin weigh-off happens Sunday, October 9th at the nursery on West Dublin Granville Road in Dublin, Ohio. The grand prize is $5000! Pumpkins can be delivered between 9 a.m. and noon, and the weigh-off begins at 1:30 p.m.
Circleville Pumpkin Show
This annual event takes place October 18th through the 22nd in the center of historic downtown Circleville. It includes a pageant, parade, pumpkin contest, concessions, rides, and more. In 2021, the largest pumpkin was 1,850 pounds!
